    1. Leslie Lynch's CHRISTMAS HOPE is a must read for the holiday season. It's a beautiful story about two people who have lived hard lives but are trying to overcome their pasts.Becca knocks on her sister's door seeking shelter, since a snow storm is on the way and makes sleeping in her car too dangerous. When she faints in the driveway, two things happen that change her life: Sam, an Afghanistan veteran burned in the line of duty, comes to her rescue despite his fears; and she lets the fact that sh [...]

    2. This Christmas story is just the thing to kick your inner Grinch to the curb and put you in the spirit of the season. It's labeled as part of the Appalachian Foothills series and does feature some characters from Lynch's previous novels in that series, but it is a standalone story, so if you haven't read the other books yet, you can still read this one (and then go ahead--read the others!)Main characters are a single pregnant woman, newly free from an abusive relationship, and a soldier wounded [...]

    3. A very sweet story about a wounded warrior and homeless single pregnant lady. I always love the damaged hero and Sam is wonderful. Although this is a novella, the plot is well developed and you become invested in the story. This is the first I have read of Leslie Lynch, and I will be reading more. Sweet romance without language and sex, yay! Good story!

    4. A sweet but not cloying sweet Christmas read about two people struggling with the difficulties life has thrown them. I love how the MCs work together and support each other.

    5. Loved Sam and Becca! This is a beautifully written heartwarming story! It is a Christmas story but really a wonderful read any time of the year!

    6. Pregnant young woman who has made lots of bad choicesVeteran with PTSDobviously a match made in heaven. Actually, an enjoyable story with real characters.

    7. This was a sweet more serious Christmas story that dealt with some heavier topics but didn't get bogged down in issues. I enjoyed it a lot.

    8. Good story line.Very thought provoking as to relationships and home we can be our own worst enemy. It has a way of making you look things differently.

    9. Becca Sweet and Sam Bledsoe are two unlikely lovers. Both of them are suffering and traumatized by life experiences. But when Becca turns up pregnant at her sister's door, begging for a room only to be turned away, Sam comes to her rescue.Sam, however is hiding from scars, both physical and emotional, and all he wants to do is to be left alone. But when his snow removal business becomes overwhelming, and Becca jumps to help him, a friendship develops that leads to more. This story was very emotio [...]

    10. Soldier recovering from war injuries and dealing with PSTD finds himself coming to the rescue of a 'wild girl, reformed' who is pregnant. It's a sweet, well written X-mess story, albeit short. I couldn't give it five stars, because the writing was just WEIRD in places. Big words that didn't fit the sentences. Like 'he subsided in to the stiff embrace of the rented chair.' (?!?!) Or, 'Sam saw the woman who kept her real self hidden' Or, 'She felt inordinate pride in Sam that he'd taken this step, [...]

    11. A tender and touching Christmas romance that challenges you to look past appearances and preconceived notions. Becca's predicament is all-too familiar, and Sam's pain is palpable. The writing is solid and smooth. Leslie Lynch delivers the perfect story to warm your heart on a cold winter's night. The author is a fellow member of the Catholic Writers Guild.

    12. A very nice and heartwarming novella about a horribly scarred war veteran and a homeless pregnant woman finding each other at Christmas time and helping each other overcome some fairly large problems they are reach facing in their lives.
